- Summary
- This report was commissioned by Canupawakpa First Nation to provide them with general health information to meet their health planning requirements for health transfer. The research contained in this report is part of the larger Manitoba First Nation Regional Health survey initiated in 1997. The results of the survey are presented in graphic form in hopes of making the results available to the widest audience possible. Several graphs compare Canupawakpa and regional differences in health related statistics. These graphs are very useful in pinpointing areas of health care that need addressing. The report makes several recommendations that require urgent attention such as: diabetes, cardiovascular and respiratory problems, asthma, and racism in the health care system. Smoking, alcoholism, gambling, poor diet, unemployment, and housing availability are also areas mentioned that need attention
