Summary
The purpose of this supplement is to provide a diverse audience--including academic researchers, health departments, health educators, community-based organizations, governmental agencies and officials, and other members of the HIV prevention workforce--with a comprehensive resource to better understand the HIV/ AIDS epidemic among Hispanics/Latinos in the United States. The supplement begins with a summary of the proceedings of a community consultation sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The first part of the supplement includes two articles that describe the HIV epidemic among groups of Hispanic/Latinos. The second part of the supplement includes three articles describing socio-ecologic factors associated with HIV-related risk behaviors. The third part of the supplement includes four articles reporting outcomes of HIV behavioral prevention interventions. The fourth and final part of this supplement includes four articles describing local and national efforts to build HIV prevention capacity within Hispanic/Latinoserving organizations. - p. 4-5
