Acknowledgements / Patricia Bovey (Spring, 2014) -- Introduction: Lady Print: Ambassador extraordinaire -- 1. Envisaging early inspirations: 'I can't remember a time when I did not have a pencil or crayon in my hand ... Whenever anything bothered me I could always turn inward to my art.' -- 2. Evoking sensibilities of place: 'I love the feel of openness. I was enchanted by the prairie and the stubble through the snow - gold at night when the sun went down.' -- 3. Questing the exotic: 'Discovery - I always wanted to find out what was somewhere else. Travel is a way to move - it's the moving through places and people and oneself.' -- 4. Seeking the spiritual: 'We are all seeking that universal voice. Now, we are afraid of feeling ecstatic. You must have balance to be IN this world, not just part of it.' -- 5. Piercing a visual voice: 'Artists have to believe in themselves in order to be artists. Printmakers were always painters as well as sculptors. I take things and scrape them away.' -- 6. Inspiring and teaching: 'You have to have your work breathe and don't forget your dreamer side.' -- 7. Balancing on a thread: 'I don't look forward to being rewarded. Art and the doing of it are their own rewards. Art for me is a bridge to another level - a silent communication - a nutrient - and if only one person and one person alone finds some one thing in what I do, don't you think that is important?' -- Epilogue: Lady Print: a living legacy: 'As an artist one does not retire. Creativity continues.' -- End notes -- Chronology (1927-2013) -- Bibliography & collections -- Index
