This is a survey of 60 Aboriginal communities in Manitoba. The survey revealed a marked inadequacy of the provincial and federal health systems in providing mental health services to Aboriginal communities. The survey revealed a number of ongoing mental health problems including alcohol abuse and many factors affecting mental health including educational, socio-economic, recreation, cultural awareness, transportation, housing, crime and law enforcement, and spouse abuse and child abuse
